Indications
- Improvement of liver function in chronic liver diseases;
- Eczema, dermatitis, urticaria, pruritus, drug overdose or toxicoderma, stomatitis, scabies (strophulus), psoriasis, alopecia, blisters.
Contraindications The product must not be used in the following patients:
- Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any component of the product.
- Patients with aldosteronism, myopathy, and hypokalemia (due to hypoxia, hypertension, etc.).
- Patients with hypertension or heart disease.
Dosage and Administration For chronic liver diseases: For intravenous injection and drip infusion the usual dose is 40 mL SNMC. For drip infusion, add normal saline or glucose solution to make 250 mL. The daily dose varies according to the patient’s age and symptoms, from 40 mL up to 100 mL. For skin diseases: The usual daily dose of SNMC is 20 mL given by intravenous injection.
Adverse Reactions In a double‑blind study of the product’s use in liver disease (to expand indications, verify dosing and record safety), adverse reactions were observed in 27 of 4,451 cases (0.61%). Major adverse reactions included decreased serum potassium in 13 cases (0.29%), increased blood pressure in 5 cases (0.11%), and upper abdominal pain in 3 cases (0.07%).
Serious Adverse Reactions
- Shock, anaphylactic shock (frequency unknown): Because of the risk of shock and anaphylactic shock (hypotension, syncope, dyspnea, cardiopulmonary shock, erythema, facial swelling, etc.), patients should be carefully monitored. If any abnormality appears, discontinue the product and take appropriate measures.

Dosage Form Stronger Neo‑Minophagen (SNMC) is an injectable preparation of glycyrrhizin, the saponin component extracted from the roots (dried roots and rhizomes) of licorice that grows in the northwest region of China. Chemically, glycyrrhizin is a compound of glycyrrhetic (glycyrrhetinic) acid and two molecules of glucuronic acid.
