MASI Injection 10%
Description:
– Seizures due to hypomagnesemia: 1–2 g of magnesium sulfate administered intravenously. (4.05–8.1 mmol)
– Eclamptic seizures: 4–5 g of this preparation administered intravenously over 10 minutes. (16.2–20.25 mmol)
– Prevention of uterine rigidity: as with this preparation, an initial 4 g is given intravenously. (162 mmol); alternatively, 1 g may be administered.
– Electrolyte support (hypomagnesemia): 1 g of the preparation is administered intramuscularly 4 times every 6 hours.
Alternatively, 5 g of this preparation may be added to a 5% glucose injection or 0.9% saline and administered intravenously over 3 hours. When treating deficiency, renal excretory function should be carefully monitored. G13
